Sometimes you just got to have a big, juicy hunk of meat… amirite? Well, I can’t really help you with that — but what I can do, is give you a big fat list of the most delicious burgers in the Castro District and where to get ‘em.

1. Rita Moreno Burger — Harvey’s (500 Castro Street)
Much like the famous Puerto Rican singer and actress, this burger is steaming hot and spicy. Topped with jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, cilantro, and guacamole.

2. Local Lamb Burger — Park Chow (215 Church Street)
If you’re trying to venture away from a traditional beef burger, try this lamb burger from Park Chow. It comes with a yogurt, cucumber and mint sauce that Yelpers rave about: “[It] was the highlight of the entire dish. I could eat that dip with anything,” said Julie Z., Berkeley, CA.

3. Three-Alarm Slider — Slider Bar (2295 Market Street)
Number three deserves three alarms! This slider is hot, hot, hot. It’s a Niman Ranch all natural beef patty topped with cheddar cheese, habanero pepper jam, sliced Serrano chilies, and pickled jalapenos on an artisan white bun. If you’re into a mouth-on-fire experience, be sure to try this slider!

4. Cowgirl Burger — Harvey’s (500 Castro Street)
While the name still throws me, the ingredients throw me in a different way. This delicious burger is packed with jack cheese, fresh basil, roasted garlic and peppers, and pesto aioli.

5. Prather Ranch Burger — Starbelly (3583 16th Street)
This Prather Ranch Burger is smothered in delicious goodness. Even though it costs a bit extra, get it with Pt. Reyes bleu cheese, avocado and Starbelly bacon — you won’t regret it.

6. “Burgah” Boy with Millionaire’s Bacon — Kitchen Story (3499 16th Street)
While this burger may be a little too pricey for some ($18), if you’re looking to cross off an epic burger from your bucket list, this is the one. This burger is served with a maple syrup Wagyu patty, their famous Millionaire’s bacon, Vermont white cheddar, arugula, fried leek, super crispy russet wedges and a house-made pickle.

7. Blackened Ahi Tuna Burger — Hi Tops (2247 Market Street)
Not only is this a great place to watch a game and drink a cold brew, but it’s also a great place to stuff your face with a delicious burger. One in particular, the Blackened Ahi Tuna Burger with remoulade, shredded lettuce, shaved onion and tomato, is making the crowd go wild. “They just got the fifth star for their Ahi Tuna Burger! This is now my go to place for a glass of Prohibition and an Ahi Tuna Burger. Nice job, Hi Tops!” said Yelper Kyle G., Oakland, CA.
