Toad Hall is a relatively new Castro District hot spot. It resides in the heart of gay San Francisco in the recently renovated building home to the retired Pendulum. Toad Hall has quickly earned a reputation in San Francisco as being one of the premier happy hour spots and is now our number one choice for just that.

Dark whispers of brown and grey crooned with wispy watery falls of blues, purples, and pinks caress this bar making the ambiance for what a happy hour should be. Most people love the idea of being able to get a 2 for 1 drink, but when combined with top shelf liquor and low dollar prices you really can't go wrong.

The Lookout Castro Market St. San FranciscoFor sexy drink slinging bartenders and the hottest gay, lesbian, and drag queen crowd in town make your way to the Lookout. Here people come to drink, eat, play, and take in the gorgeous view of Market and 16th Street. There is no other bar like it in the Castro.

Lookout is most notable for its massive balcony that seats onlookers who chat, drink, and wink at the passing foot traffic below. A visit to the Castro would not be complete without at least one (or two or five) drinks here. Lookout has a great friendly crowd with daily specials and events like no other. Not to mention that gorgeous view we keep talking about.

Finally! That is the first word that comes to mind when recalling my most recent visit to the Castro's newest bar, Blackbird. The Blackbird is a sultry smooth blend of gay, straight, and fanciful right here in the Castro. Not far from Church Street station and the hustle and bustle of Market and Church, Blackbird Bar is a must for a drop-in visit on the way home from work or for leisurely late night chatting with friends and people-watching. Blackbird bar is truly the hippest and newest happening in San Francisco's famous Castro District shouldn't be missed.

BADLANDS - May 1, 2010

Badlands Castro District bar nightclub dance club San FranciscoWild video screens and its circular dance floor make Badlands one of the Castro's most frequented and popular nightclubs. The Dance floor is a circle in shape with plenty of room for on lookers to sip their martinis and toss back 2 for 1 Long Islands during happy hour. (Be sure to come in between 3-9pm.)

Badlands is a smooth blend of both young and the old. Nestled on the block of 18th and Castro there is never a dull moment with plenty to see.

The line to get in to the bar can get long on the weekends but it moves quickly. Once inside be sure to check out the nightly drink specials. They are constantly changing. The bartenders are friendly and most importantly pour HEAVY. A drink at badlands is like a double anywhere else in the city. For this reason alone (and the dance floor,) Badlands will always be a good time.
