Are you gay and love to read? Well you’re in luck my friends. Here are three awesome gay book clubs in the Castro District.

1. QSF&F Book Club

A great book group for LGBTQ and LGBTQ-friendly people who love science fiction, fantasy or horror! This diverse group meets one the second Sunday of every month at Borderlands Books (866 Valencia St). Not only do you get a discount on the books your book club selects, but you also get a change to meet some great new friends. This club likes to hang with their members outside of reading time — they go to movies, have parties and chat it up on their book club webpage. Members of the book club decide the reading list every four months, providing a variety of authors, genres and themes. For more info, visit: http://qsfandf.weebly.com

2. Magnet Book Club

Magnet is a place where gay men connect. They also provide free sexual health services in the heart of the Castro. The Magnet Book Club meets the last Tuesday of each month at 7:30 at Magnet and it’s free for anyone to join. This book club generates informal conversations about books by gay authors or about gay themes. Members also get 15 percent off of the book club selections at Books, Inc. (2275 Market St)! 3. SF LGBT Book Club

Join this lively group for informative discussions about LGBT-themed novels and non-fiction. Book selections cover everything from new releases to classics; mainstream to offbeat. Their site says, “come and explore the world of literature with like-minded folks who don't mind getting their hands a little dirty. The Center/Books Inc. Book Group is free and open to everyone. We encourage inclusiveness and promote diversity.” This book club is held the second Wednesday of every month at Books, Inc. For more information, visit: www.booksinc.net/localinterest/268715
