Looks like Britney Spears won't be playing the Castro after all, y'all.
Castro San Francisco officials, concerned about the prospects of bad weather, have nixed plans to have Spears perform at noon Sunday in front of the Castro District Theatre, as part of a "Good Morning America" segment to air Tuesday.
Jive Records, Spears' label, said Wednesday that Spears will now perform noon Sunday at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. The show will still be free, but tickets will be required for entrance. Tickets become available 10:30 a.m. Thursday at www.abcnews.com/gma. It was not known how many tickets will be available. You'll need a printed receipt to get into the show.
"Good Morning America" was expected to make more details available Thursday. The new concert will still be part of a "GMA" segment. ABC has said Robin Roberts will be in S.F. to interview Spears.
Spears' S.F. appearance kicks off a publicity/tour for her new album, "Femme Fatale," which comes out Tuesday.
