This strangely named restaurant in the Castro District has a plethora of delicious food choices and cozy atmosphere to boot. They’ve got savory crepes (try the Chicken Pesto, it’s to die for!), sweet crepes, sandwiches, salads, pasta, burgers, fresh squeezed OJ and all kinds of delicious breakfast options (like the famous Castro omelette with feta cheese, tomatoes, spinach & kalamata olives!).

While most of the options on the menu may seem fit for omnivores, Poesia is very accommodating to vegan and vegetarians. “We were a mixed-dietary-restrictions crowd — my step-dad likes straightforward meaty Italian, my mom's a vegetarian, and I'm a vegan — but they were able to accommodate all of us. Delicious vegan mushroom risotto for me, adapted from a vegetarian daily special,” said Yelper Eric G., Oakland, CA. If you stop by, be sure to try the Insalata Finocchio (Lacinato kale salad, fennel, strawberries and shaved Parmesan) or the Tortello di Barbabietola con Ricotta Affumicata (roasted red beets ravioli, butter and sage, and shaved smoked ricotta cheese)!

Nearly One-Third of the Homeless Population in San Francisco Are LGBTQ

According to the most recent census required for federal funding, San Francisco reported a homeless population of 6,436. Of that population, the San Francisco Humane Services Agency (HSA) asked 1000 people about their sexual orientation and 29 percent identified themselves as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, the SF Chronicle reported.
