Hamburger Mary’s, a Gay-Themed Burger Joint, Hopes to Move to the Castro

There’s definitely something about Mary. The long vacant Patio Cafe space in the Castro District, that has been vacant for 15 years, may finally see some new life!

Property owner Les Natali (Toad Hall and Badlands) has signed a letter of intent for Hamburger Mary's, a gay-themed burger chain, to move to 531 Castro Street. The only thing that may stand in Mary’s way is the Castro’s ban on formula retail.
